Andre has always been immersed in art.  Designing and working with wood, metal, clay and stone, carving and sculpting as well as painting.  His painting process is an intuitive search for shape, form, gesture or event unique to each piece.  In historical context, the work focuses on the individual and how social issues influence thinking and behavior.  The themes of his work comprise psychological and philosophical commentaries, which grew out of a curiosity with the way people interact.  “At a young age, I would be intrigued by a duality in people and their ability to abruptly shift attitudes.”  In the content of the work, one can find human and sculptural figures placed in interactive situations, represented realistically and abstractly.  “To me, sculpture has innate human attributes which are explored in the process of making a statement about our understanding and communication.”
